Who Are The Butterfly Tree?

The Butterfly Tree charity, founded in 2006, has transformed the lives of thousands upon thousands of orphans and vulnerable people living in rural areas of Zambia. HIV and AIDS, malaria and climate change are just some of the challenges. We provide clean water and sanitation, food security, health and education facilities, medical supplies and sports equipment.

We offer malaria prevention inverventions, sustainable income-generating projects, special education and an orphan support programme. We provide emergency food relief. All funds go directly to the cause. No administration or personal fees are deducted. All members both in the UK and Zambia are volunteers.

“Every child has a right to education.”

Help Support Our Mission

The Butterfly Tree has been working in outreach communities of Zambia for over nineteen years. We have over thirty ongoing projects relating to water, food, health, including malaria prevention, education, orphan support and community projects.

We work with some wonderful volunteers and fundraisers, corporate and individuals, all making their unique contributions to the charity. From £6 donations for a mosquito net, fundraising with schools or through challenges such as marathons and climbing mountains. Some donors visit the projects in Mukuni, volunteer to build classrooms or teach in class. Corporate Sponsors supporting malaria prevention, healthcare and education and much more. Your support is helping to change lives.
